In a home, sounds penetrate from the external environment, interfloor spaces or spaces between the rooms themselves. For the different types of noise, there are developed prevention systems, which, if desired, are included in the project by a professional designer.
There are two main types of noise – impact noise and airborne noise – each of which requires its own shades of insulation. Impact noise occurs when objects are mechanically impacted on a board. This sound can be triggered, for example, by a simple walking of the neighbors from above. A heavily switched on TV or playing a musical instrument are sources of airborne noise.
The use of acoustic noise removal solutions is not difficult, as long as it is carried out at the beginning of the design. The choice of a sound insulation system is based on the features of the building, namely the materials from which the walls are made.
Exterior interior design is also capable of fighting noise, even if you started thinking about it at the last stage of design. A variety of soft and porous materials in the coating of walls, floors, as well as soft soundproofing furniture, decorative panels and elements are able to significantly reduce sound exchange with neighbors and echoes. Soundproofing properties also have the biggest hit in interior solutions, namely decorative moss.
Conversely, if your home is made in styles such as minimalism and loft, there is not much furniture or partitions in the rooms, and the walls are characterized by a smooth surface, then the acoustics in these rooms will amplify any sound of yours or your neighbors. This is the reason why the decision for sound insulation was made at the beginning of the project in order to be able to integrate the special panels into the walls and/or floor.
Noise-absorbing materials can not only be integrated into the walls of the room, but also have a decorative character in the interior. Usually, the positioning of noise-absorbing elements is in close proximity to the sound source (musical instrument, home theater, music speakers). An example of such an element is a sound-absorbing panel, a 3D panel on the walls or a special sound-absorbing furniture made of non-traditional material, the specially made lamps of the pendant type from the images.
One of the best methods of sound insulation is the acoustic ceiling. It reduces the intensity of sound reflection, absorbs noise and improves the acoustics in the room. In the space between the two main layers, you can easily and simply hide the elements of the electrical, ventilation and lighting systems. Most often, pressed boards made of very thin glass or mineral fibers are used as amoisture-absorbing material intended for such ceilings.
The sound insulation system is selected by a professional interior designer who proceeds from a system of factors. For each type of room, layout, wall material, location of the home and even from the specifics of your lifestyle or hobby, the methods, materials and places for positioning sound-absorbing solutions are chosen.
