A real architectural monument in the bowels of Sydney stunned the inhabitants of the city.

The unique art installation – Interloop is located at the Wynyard station from the subway. It is an interesting air composition hanging over the passengers. The installation itself resembles an accordion made of parts of an old escalator.

The first wooden escalator appeared at this station in 1931, then it was replaced by a metal one. Today’s five-ton structure is more than 50 meters long and consists of 244 wooden steps and four metal bases from the original escalator.

The author of this work of art is the Australian architect – Chris Fox. According to him, the installation symbolizes the connection between the old and the new and aims to draw the attention of tourists and artists to the architecture of Sydney.
