[:bg]Bella Residence is home to a young family with two young children. The interior project unfolds a romantic vision with a gentle luxurious aesthetic. Therefore, the high-class materials, a good selection of combinations between them and the quality performance of built-in and personalized furniture contribute to this.
The airiness in the space is felt by the large windows and sliding doors that open the living room to the courtyard. On the other hand, beautiful glass display cases in the living room also add lightness and aesthetics.
Soft color combinations are used, and the colorful wallpaper that can be seen in many of the rooms in the house, even in some of the bathrooms, bring the spirituality of the spaces.

The living room is bubbling with dynamics and light. For real coziness and comfort in the construction of the room, deserved attention is paid to even the smallest details.

Fresh pastel tones combine extremely pleasantly with the earthy palette, and golden elements contribute to the elegant feeling of luxury.

Comfort is enhanced by the choice of Italian top brands in the field of furniture design.
The project was implemented in December 2020.

Hear more details of the project personally from arch. Iveta Popova, according to whose creative concept and supervision this large-scale interior was executed.
Personalized solutions in every detail – this is how we can describe the process of creating the interior of Emerald Residence. Close work with the client and the whole family was key to achieve the desired result, and our professionalism and observation was key to solving the challenges in the apartment plan.
Resembling a beautiful painting, an old walnut adorns the large display case in the living room. An exceptional gift that closes the boulevard and gives a feeling of escape into nature. Yes, however, it is also one of the main disadvantages in the home – when leafed, the walnut obstructs the daylight and then the skillful design comes into play. With the first step into the apartment, arch. Popova made a proposal to “open” the entrance hall and the wall separating it from the living room to become an airy and stylish rack. This solution allows daylight to enter inside the home and creates a large shared space.

A place to read and the comfort of the fireplace
The owners are lovers of the aroma of books and true connoisseurs of literature. It was imperative to set up a reading corner with a library, which would be both an independent place, but also not detached from the entire living room.

In addition, an important moment for the family was to implement a fireplace in the design, which is a really valuable source of coziness and atmosphere in the home. Our solution was an open eco-fuel fireplace, which would be a kind of divider between the large sofa and the comfortable armchair. Placed low below, it fits perfectly into the concept of free space to let in more light.
The Artist’s Island
Again, a personalized solution that meets the wishes of our customers was the design of the dining table. It is specially designed so that it perfectly fits the compact size of the kitchen and plays the role of the so-called. kitchen island – a wide creative countertop for the avid amateur chef like Emmy. Hear what her previous attitudes and dreams for the new home are in ATG Design’s video series – My Perfect Home:
In the concept of the whole apartment, there is a symbiosis between luxury, simple design and functionality. To a large extent, we managed to give this touch of luxury with the beautiful golden details that bring warmth and are a wonderful accent color that contrasts and complements the emerald green that is strongly present. By coincidence, it turned out that this was another element that was completely customized for our customers in the design. We will give out from the kitchen of the workflow that this particular bronze-gold shade is not available in the color cartels of furniture companies and was created to order so that we preserve the character of the concept and fulfill the task.

Bedroom
Tenderness and stylish aesthetics complement each other in the master bedroom to turn a large room into a cozy room with a distinctive spirit and essence.
Photo: Mihaela Draganova
Architecturally, the room is designed for a children’s room with two beds and is narrow and elongated. Our job was to turn it into a warm and soft bedroom that would retain its functionality with large wardrobes and a ladies’ dressing table. Again, we applied a favorite trick to separate two corners in the otherwise large space – an open library, which is accessible on both sides and does not stop the flow of daylight. Thus, a place for the ladies’ dressing table was naturally formed, which can also be used as a working point for solitude and concentration.

Another element that gives character to the room is colorful and luxurious wallpaper, which has an interesting structure. They unite the concept of used shades and are again complemented by a soft golden tone, which this time is present in the curtains.
In 2020, many events took place, predetermining the circumstances for the whole year ahead, which changed and transformed both the plans and the business itself. The ATG Design team was able to adapt quickly to the changes, and this did not stop the work process or our inspiration to create.
Thus, the year turned out to be charged with a positive charge, which motivates us even more for our upcoming big projects. Marked by 3 international awards, which are a strong recognition for our work, 2020 confirmed the direction of the studio, developing its distinctive character with an artistic vision and refined taste in the contemporary style of architecture and design.
Starbucks – Big SEE Award winner
RD-1 – Property Award winner in the category “Residential Interior Apartment” for the region of Bulgaria
RD-2 – Property Award winner in the category “Residential Interior Show Home” for the region of Bulgaria
The Year of International Awards
Back in April, we received the news about the nomination of our interior project RD-1 in the prestigious competition German Design Awards 2021 in the Interior Architecture category. This was also the first verification of the high rating of the project, and after the “House of the Year” awards 2019 of Ideal Home, where we grabbed first place in the “Private Interior” category again with RD-1, we already had the absolute confidence that 2020 is our year to step on the international podium and apply for our style by participating in the established European competitions.
The most exciting emerging platform for Southeast Europe, which promotes the creative economy in many aspects of design, for the third year in a row recognizes the best designers and architects in the region. The Starbucks project ranks among the Bulgarian interiors that most impress the BigSEE jury with its original and functional design.
The European property awards are held for the 27th year and cover more than 45 categories for residential and commercial space. The competition is part of IPAX UK & Europe – a European event that is landmark in the architectural world and brings together the best companies. The winners of The European property awards 2020-2021 are evaluated by an independent jury of 80 experts who focus on design, quality, services, originality and sustainable models. The jury is chaired by members of the House of Lords in the British Parliament.
Two of the projects of ATG Design are in the top selection for Bulgaria in categories respectively RD-1 in “Residential Interior Apartment” and RD-2 in “Residential Interior Show Home”.
“Initially, we stated our intention to join only with RD-1, confident in its strongdesign, but shortly after submitting the application, the Property Awards team was grabbed by the studio’s latest implemented project – RD-2. Then we decided to enter with both projects.”
On December 11, the online virtual ceremony of the European Property Awards 2020-2021 will take place, when ATG Design will compete in both categories against the best real estate professionals in the European region.
All three award-winning apartments have their own spirit and character. They are part of the My Perfect Home video series, which ATG Design launched in 2019. [:]
Fine aesthetics to the detail, combined with functional and stylish solutions – this is the character of the RD-2. Inspiring textures and precisely smooth surfaces are spread over a total area of 120 sq.m. The apartment consists of a bedroom with a bathroom, a study, a corridor and a unified living space that combines a kitchen, dining room and living room.
Photo: Mihaela Draganova
The unity of the living room with the vestibule is easily achieved by choosing a large-scale tile for the flooring. Granite tiles with a pattern resembling a mosaic are an expression of bold taste and a reference to museum interiors. The owner of the apartment “collects” memories that he wanted to arrange in the new home. Thus, souvenirs and favorite items found their place in beautiful glass showcases with a mirrored surface when they are dark.
Photo: Mihaela Draganova
Thus, the whole concept of the interior develops around the theme of “Travel and Memories”, and the design is visually on the edge between public and residential. You will notice that the accent in the hallway and living room are large mirrors, elegant surfaces and showcases that optically expand the space and resemble a gallery. However, comfort is not neglected, but on the contrary – emphasized by the strong presence of natural materials such as wood, marble, stone, leather, wool, silk. In this way, the connection with nature comes to the fore and contributes to the creation of comfort and warmth necessary for the perfect home.
Photo: Mihaela Draganova
The walls are covered with cladding, creating an eye-pleasing play between the reliefs of the different materials. White is not boring latex, but wallpaper with natural threads, complementing the feeling of coziness. The marble has a place of honor in the living room and bedroom, reminiscent of a work of art – again a contextual connection with the museum.
The decoration is mostly in gold and pink-gold metal surfaces to bring a noble touch and warmth.
Photos: Zahari Merdjanov
The kitchen is minimalistically designed in black and white colors. There is a small coffee area next to the window, so that in the morning the owner can enjoy the wonderful view of Vitosha Mountain. The small drawers and the vertical winery stand out as a cool design element of the built-in furniture. A recurring detail are the smoky showcases, which maintain the subtle aesthetics throughout the apartment.
Photo: Mihaela Draganova
The cabinet speaks of a soft and noble character. Leading is the white color, combined with subtle gray and brown shades. Natural wood parquet matches the cladding and gives a warm look to the room, while the white ceiling and light curtains open up the room even more.
Photo: Mihaela Draganova
The lighting can be adjusted by removing and placing individual panels thanks to their magnetic grip. This feature allows residents to easily transform a home office into a children’s room in the future, for example. Again, we see that the library has been created with the ability to arrange favorite elements of residents to create a pleasant working atmosphere.
The predominant materials in the bedroom are wood, leather and textiles. Wooden parquet is a choice for flooring and in the bedroom, which goes perfectly with the bed with leather and textile trim. The specially designed bedside table has a drawer for watches and jewelry, which stands out with a leather finish.
Photo: Mihaela Draganova
The shelf under the TV is slightly reminiscent of the one in the kitchen and suggests the space reserved for green plants that always bring freshness.
The design of the two bathrooms stands out with an interesting playfulness in the geometry and imperfection of the tiles. Bathroom lighting #1 is designed with perpendicular and parallel LED strips that emphasize straight shapes and are a counterpoint to the oval of the sink and mirror.
Photos: Mihaela Draganova
Bathroom #2 is noticeable a beautiful relief of the tiles – each looks unique and carries the imperfection of nature. Again, geometric shapes prevail on one of the walls, creating the illusion of depth with their black color.

You can walk around the finished apartment together with the owner Radi Dobrevski, who in the third edition of the My Perfect Home by ATG design video series shares about his favorite details of the new home. More details and photos can be found in our portfolio.
In the daily lives of many Bulgarians today, working from home has abruptly acquired a different meaning and it is no longer only freelance professionals who take advantage of this advantage. The fact is that many homes are not equipped with this functionality, but this is a good time to think that in the dynamics of modern society with a focus on career, having a comfortable space at home for work is a necessity.
RD-2 project – renders
But there are also many people with their own business, for example, for whom professional development has been among the top priorities for a long time. This naturally imposes the vision of the modern home with the presence of an office as a separate room. Well, don’t you think the era of the guest room is over? And what about transforming it into a home workspace?
The creation of a cabinet in one way or another is an expression of the search for a convenient implementation of a space for a work process in the home. If you haven’t had it before, then you probably already think that it would be incredibly comfortable to have a special room for work inspiration and creative process, right?
There are no two opinions that working in a supine position from the couch is great…, but for half an hour. And how does the interior give a solution to the messy sticky notes and the crumbling table in the dining room with all your electronic gadgets or to the hunched stand because of the low table in the living room?
We will share our experience as architects and will state that we have recently taken into account the need for the presence of office space in the home. That is why we often advise a client to create this important part of his future home due to a number of advantages. Of course, personal context is fundamental, and that is why we are going to present a very specific example of an interior completed this year.
Cozy cabinet for family business
In project RD-1 , the client’s task was to build an interior that the whole family could share for gatherings and workshops. The family business was the leading reason for the need to separate, in addition to a large open space for business meetings, also a secluded corner to focus on tasks.
RD-1 project – renders
Here the plot clearly told us that the creation of a cozy office is mandatory and it was not difficult to assure the owners of this correct decision. Thus, we have separated a compact space in which there is both a desk with directional lighting and a small library with a comfortable armchair for relaxation or concentration.
RD-1 project – renders
The choice of materials in this room corresponds to the overall line of the apartment, but is distinguished by the warm presence of wood and leather. Thus, the cabinet has become an important part that carries its own spirit and at the same time complements the home in a rational way.
What is your context and is it a functional solution to set up an office – we hope that working from home now will be a good starting point for assessing a future renovation or your new home. Our team of architects is available for consultations and preparation of a comprehensive plan for your home. [:]
Architecture is one of those professions in which the result is not instantaneous. It takes patience, perseverance, and perseverance to observe the fruit of your creation. The beauty lies in the fact that style is not a constant, but is constantly evolving and enriched by the experience of time, from which we, as a team, manage to draw inspiration.
A few days before the end of 2019, we can safely say that the string of 365 days was a unique journey in which we laid the foundations for new long-term ventures, interesting architectural projects and collected awards for our tireless work from the previous year!
Awards
We are proud that this year, when we look back, we can satisfactorily count the awards received for our achievements in 2018 and in different categories.
In February, at the annual Ideal Standard Bathroom of the Year awards, our team won the Media Award for Ideal School Toilet, and in April, the prestigious magazine Ideal Home awarded the First Prize for the interior of a small home. Autumn was also exciting with the spectacular event of the interior and product design platform DIBLA, where we distinguished ourselves with a nomination for Best Residential Interior and an award for a professional profile in dibla.com.
Journey
Being among the winners with the best 3D project for the ideal school toilet in the Ideal Standard Bathroom of the Year 2018 competition, our team traveled together with the other finalists to Milan to visit the Italian office of Ideal Standard. We had the pleasure of meeting their chief designer Roberto Palomba personally and attending presentations and meetings dedicated to interior design.
The very next month, our team visited another prominent place in the field of design in Milan. Being in the MisuraEmme factory was an amazing experience and we are happy to have had the opportunity to closely observe their work and get to know all the processes first-hand. The walk in the creative corner of established furniture manufacturers with a long history and achievements was truly inspiring!
Among our many trips in Milan, we could not miss the two biggest events in the field of design and architecture – Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone (Milan Design week). A truly memorable cultural and emotional experience.
Endeavors
A characteristic feature of arch. Iveta Popova, as the leader of ATG design, is her innovative and visionary approach to her work, and not only in terms of design. The creation of the My Perfect Home series is perhaps one of the best examples of this.
A familiar format that in an attractive and engaging way invites its followers for a walk in the completed projects of ATG design. We believe that it is through the eyes of the owner and occupant that we can create the best idea of what the perfect home looks like. Thus, in the fall, we presented the first two editions of the video series with the two interior projects RD-1 and Starbucks.
Projects
In the continuous maelstrom of work in 2019, we were able to release interiors that were awarded with nominations, awards and publications in international media. This helped us to establish ourselves with a distinctive style and handwriting in our work and launched us forward in the launch of even more challenging and inspiring projects with new clients.
We wish ourselves in the new year to set the bar even higher and successfully express our visionary vision for functional and sophisticated design, thus provoking well-deserved public attention. [:]
An apartment from the 30s of the last century in the heart of the capital is now home to a young family. The owner Mihail has the emotional connection with the apartment, which has undergone 3 radical transformations over the years. For his latest transformation, he trusted ATG design.
Before it acquired this modern look, the place was an office for the family business. At that time, part of the walls were demolished and a completely open space was created, leaving only one room separated. Arch. Iveta Popova decided to keep the concept to some extent and formed a large room that merged the living room, dining room and kitchen, but at the same time, at Mihail’s request, new walls were also raised. Thus, a bedroom with a private bathroom, a children’s room with a second bathroom, a study and a small functional vestibule are built.
The main line represented in the architecture and interior of the home is functionality and stylish finish. Owners are very keen on white and gray for primary colors, which contributes to a fresh and spacious atmosphere. Accent tones are in the range of blue-green, and in the children’s room it switches to gray-green. The presence of natural materials such as wood and wool create a feeling of coziness, and textile wallpaper contributes to the warm radiance of the home.
Ceilings up to 3.20 m high allow the floor to be raised and insulated during construction. Thus, when choosing granite tiles for flooring, the apartment still remains warm. Really impressive is the scale of the marble slabs, and one of them can be seen as a decorative accent on the wall opposite the sofa. In combination with monochrome graphics, an art group is formed, which replaces the TV in the everyday corner. Characteristic handwriting for arch. Iveta Popova is this design game of bringing unobtrusive but remarkable elements into the interior.
The modular cabinet along the entire wall, in addition to storage, is conveniently adapted with a soft seat. In combination with the mini library, built into the vertical module above the fireplace, there is a pleasant corner for privacy or an additional place for a larger company around the wooden table. It also deserves attention, as it is handmade from solid timber. Individual cubes create different configurations according to the occasion, and the niches inside them can be visible or hidden.
Definitely hidden niches are a characteristic motif in the interior and shows a clever approach to the use of space of 120 sq.m., through which a clean vision is preserved. At the request of the client to always have the kitchen in its minimalist form, all necessary utensils and utensils are visually hidden behind the marble kitchen back with a sliding mechanism. At the touch of a button, the back of the kitchen counter is automatically lifted and the kitchen is once again transformed into readiness for delicious adventures. When lowered, the back harmoniously fits with the flooring, and the marble vein can find its continuation on the decorative slab in the living room opposite the sofa.
For a video tour of the interior, led by Mikhail personally – watch the second edition of My Perfect Home by ATG design. [:]
[:bg]My Perfect Home is an attractive and engaging way to invite our followers for a walk in ATG design’s completed projects. We believe that it is through the eyes of the owner and occupant that we can create the best idea of what the perfect home looks like.
The “home tour” format is not new, but on the contrary – an already established video format showing homes with a guide by the owner himself. Many foreign interior media manage to permanently attract the attention of the audience through this episodic type of material, walking it through the beautiful houses and apartments of celebrities. Well, we decided to step into the shoes of our clients and make a different presentation of the completed project. Although we do not rely on the popularity of the names, we believe that we will present in a natural way, in the words of the owner, his vision and perception of the home. And somehow of its own accord turned into an idea to create a series of videos, through which we will show one of our projects in the coming months.
For the pilot episode, we chose the RD-1 project, which we implemented this summer. The elegant interior of the ground floor stands out with the concept of merging the spaces, which is also a leading request of the client. Radoslava Dobrevska herself is the person behind the code name RD-1. She is chatty, radiant and full of energy. He defines himself and his family as extremely down-to-earth people. This is also the reason for the strong presence of natural materials everywhere in the apartment.
We can safely say that the work on it was an amazing synchronization between Radoslava’s wishes and searches, on the one hand, and the proposals and ideas that our architects implied, on the other. We follow how she hovers over the marble floor with ease and willingly shows the favorite details that are present in her new home, and we wish you a pleasant viewing!
