In conditions of a changed environment and total confusion and exchange of functions of residential and office spaces, decoration plays a strong role in identifying the place with the company’s brand. The office environment is already perceived in a new way, and this could not be ignored as a factor.
“Last summer, we had the task of renovating the office of Independent Media. However, this task extended far beyond cosmetic changes and our intervention as interior specialists was key.” – says arch. Iveta Popova.
When employees have been working from home for a long time, the return to the office should be positive and bring the touch of comfort that the home provided, but at the same time create space for creativity, concentration and increase the energy charge.
“That is why we perceived our assignment as a mission of change and quality revitalization of the premises,” adds arch. Dare.
The name of the company itself also implies an expression of individuality, and the solution was to customize the space so that it declares a position.
The relationship between graffiti and office décor
Graffiti is widely perceived as a voice of protest, an expression of stable social criticism – a message that an independent media carries. We liked this as a concept to develop in the meeting room and was embraced by the client.
This contemporary visual language suits the brand very well and from art associated with the street, we transferred it to the interior as a shared expression of the company to carry its values in the image. The mural created in this way will always remind of the power of personal position and independence.
“When choosing the street art to implement in the project, we needed a deep conceptual conceiving of the drawing so that it conveys the overall vibe of the brand as a factor and complements the interior to make the project warm, welcoming and with a story that makes it mostly unique.”
We chose a distinctive pop art style with bright colors and a simple image that clearly communicates the idea. The thickened contour further emphasizes the message and we believe that the project supports the interior concept well.
All over the world, and more and more often in Bulgaria, we see architectural studios implementing street art and graffiti in their projects. This contemporary visual language, inherent in the urban environment, is capable of giving a cultural and artistic soul to office spaces and is a powerful tool for living in large volumes. The variety of shapes and styles is so great and can always be harmoniously woven into the bigger picture – from black and white strokes to colorful and classic graffiti, from realism to comics, everyone can find their own form that will nourish the creative thinking in the team and give a new image to the office.
