Trends

The dining room is the focal point of the home

The dining room, which unites many activities in the day of a family, reinforces its central function during the holidays. What are the latest trends in terms of shapes, materials and distribution in this key corner of the home – we will tell in the following lines.

Delicate oval shapes

Oval and round shapes are becoming more and more relevant, which are welcomed everywhere in the home.

Amorphous figures and rounded elements create an associative relationship with natural forms. Extremely pleasing to the eye, they create harmonious streams of movement of the occupants.

Render by ATG Design

When we talk about a dining room, the round table is a familiar choice, which is increasingly present with retro design elements in a new reading. . In the specific example of Pianca Design’s Ettore model, the central axis is a beautiful detail that in no way weighs down with its massive appearance.

Ettoro by Pianca

Our choice in customizing the design is a combination of glossy surfaces at the bottom as a counterpoint to the matte marble top. An elegant addition is the textile soft chairs, which subtly envelop the seated and contribute to comfort.

Render by ATG Design

For a larger family, a rectangular table is certainly more suitable, and again you can bet on rounded corners that bring tenderness to the shape. A very elegant choice is Bonaldo’s The Flame.

Flame table by Bonaldo

The design impresses with the beautiful table legs, which make the marble top look light as a feather. A stylish addition, again with a retro touch in the design, are the chairs of My Way, My Way by Bonaldo. They invite you to be completely immersed in your softness.

Our choice for the overall reading of the home are chairs with golden copper legs and dark brown leather on the back, which add warmth to the freshly white interior.

Natural materials are always a suitable choice for a table

Whether small or large, a table with a natural wooden top always remains a strong and timeless choice for the dining room.

Render by ATG Design

In one of our latest projects G Residence, we stop at Bonaldo’s Big Table, which becomes the focal point of the room with its stable and massive appearance. The large black matte legs, reminiscent of a sculpture of contemporary art, contribute to this.

Big Table by Bonaldo

Very important for choosing this type of table is the space you have so that it is not “suffocated” by other furniture around. In itself, such a dining room is an exciting center of attraction.

For smaller homes, the wooden table brings its charm and connection with nature in a natural and casual way.

In this gentle and romantic interior, we have combined the wooden top of the dining room with the kitchen top and back, which communicate pleasantly, surrounded by the black and white built-in furniture.

Multi-family residential building as a synonym for increased quality of life in the big city

Statistics in the field of residential property over the past two years show that the trend is towards migration from the big city to smaller settlements. The pandemic is a key factor that has upended the way we work and therefore the way we live. Of course, the reasons are complex, but the leading one is the increased demand for a stronger connection with nature, peace and time for the family.

But why give up the advantages of the big city when we can find a harmonious place to live, right there?

A multi-family complex is becoming a preferred choice in the real estate market. It provides significantly more freedom than gated residential complexes and is a good opportunity to unite large families in a common building without compromising on independence.

Catching this trend, the architectural studio ATG Design began to develop the idea for the large-scale project “Cypresses” in early 2021.

“I am a supporter of a cohesive microenvironment based on the idea of collectivity and mutual assistance. I believe that the multi-family The complex creates this opportunity in a natural way and is suitable for large families of several generations, as well as for a wider circle of friends of families.” – says arch. Popova, who is behind the concept of “The Cypresses”.

During the pandemic, many families were left separated for a long time, and caring for children from pleasure became a challenge taken together with working from home. It is in this context that a multi-family building, having both privacy and closeness to the family, becomes a valuable asset and synonymous with freedom.

The yard spaces, as well as the tree species well integrated into the architecture, create a unique proximity to nature, moreover, within Sofia. Thus, the hectic life in the capital can be successfully balanced with the choice of a suitable home.

It seems that harmony and quality of life are an invariable starting point in the work of ATG Design. The team of architects and designers uncovertly emphasizes it in each of their projects. That is why the beautiful façade cladding and panoramic windows, which have become a trademark of their architectural style, speak.

2022 – a year of transformation and high vibrations

The Color of the Year is an initiative that we follow closely, both globally and indicated by the largest color company Pantone, and locally with its participation in the workshops organized by Orgachim, which aim to bring out the most popular trends for the region of Bulgaria in terms of colors.

Our society continues to turn to color as a mirror of its inner world, searches and inspiration, and colors are a powerful “weapon” of communication of our moods. With the shocks at the global level in the last 2 years, it is quite normal for the direction to be transformation and change of the individual and collective vibration.

Purple as innovation and transformation

For the first time, Pantone is creating an entirely new shade to be leading in 2022. According to Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, the purple shade Very Peri is a reflection of what is happening globally, namely through the creation of the new color, it reflects on universal transformation and global innovation.

Source: Unsplashed; Photo: Dilyara Garifullina

Purple tones have always symbolized increased vibration and self-awareness, and the complex essence of Very Peri – a combination of red violets with blue notes, is an expression of creativity, the development of ideas, emotions and the search for growing opportunities for humanity.

Medara – the power of internal energy

Orgachim this year again they bring out an extremely energizing shade under the name Medara. It is part of the orange range and is distinguished by tone, strong energy and warmth. The color is a beautiful reference to the bright fashion of the 60s with its retro taste, drama and original presence.

Source: Unsplashed, photo: Marra M

Source: Unsplash; photo: Beazy

Medara goes extremely well with natural materials such as wood, leather, linen. White and dark gray accentuate and liberate it.

Both colors – Medara and Very Peri, are suitable as an accent presence in the home due to their strong character. We advise you to include them in the interior on one of the walls through paint or beautiful wallpaper, for furniture – chairs, sofa or decoration – pillows, blanket, objects. In this way, they will be able to manifest their bright radiance without intrusion. Here are two examples of how we implemented the two colors as an accent in the interior of a bathroom:

We combined Very Peri with fresh white, frosted black and smoky glass. We combined medara with the presence of wood, large raster, white, and gold is just a wink to the warm radiance of space. In both cases, we have included an imitation of a mosaic, in which the leading color and complementary shades must be present to achieve homogeneity.

Of course, we will not ignore the fact of how well these two colors fit together. If you are a supporter of a more eclectic style, then you can safely experiment and combine them in one space. To complete the abundance of sensory sensations, you can add plush, long hair and coarse rasters to this interior. The presence of impressive carpets is very relevant, which not only through colors, but also shapes will express your expressive essence. Purple and orange bring a touch of Orient and will refresh your home qualitatively.

THE LATEST COMBINATIONS IN THE WORLD OF COATINGS

Inspired by our trip to Italy last month , we continue with the topic of trends. This time we turn to coatings – we will look at the most current finishes of materials in the bathroom, including for the walls and how to combine them well.

THE MODERN BATHROOM

In the blog article dedicated to INTERIOR TRENDS, we talked about the current color palette and here we will reinforce it. An absolute popular favorite are pastel tones of earth shades – green, tile, yellow, blue, as well as fresh white, beige, cream and pink.

What are the popular routines?

Contrasting hot/cold colors always look good when they are in the same saturation and are of the same palette.

ATGdesign blog - finishes in bathroom design

Especially stylish is the combination of matte finish and gloss. Then the most popular is the combination of close and complementary colors – for example, a rich silica color with a glossy surface and a soft pink with a matte surface.

ALWAYS FASHIONABLE WALLPAPER

Wallpaper is a very classic and timeless choice for wall covering. Modern developments and technologies are so innovative that you can’t help but choose wallpaper for at least one of the rooms in your home. Unless, of course, you are well aware of the latest from the vast world of wallpaper. Almost all manufacturers rely on the natural element as a presence – both in patterns and in reliefs.

Recycled fabrics are becoming more and more permanently intervening and are finding their application here as well. Hypoallergenic materials stand out in the foreground, which have been in great demand over the past year and a half. And with the trend for more work from home, the demand for wallpaper whose fabrics improve acoustics is also increasing. They are very suitable for home office spaces or the corner where you have set up your desk.

A favorite design approach for our studio is the choice of wallpaper for the bathroom. Now, with the latest developments, we can now choose coatings that are applied once and do not need additional treatment to resist moisture in the bathroom.

When considering the interior of the living room, we would recommend another current “thread” in the manufacture of wallpaper and it is the golden one. That’s right – the incorporation of metal threads into the fabrics of wallpaper is extremely relevant and very well combined with other metal elements in the design or surfaces imitating old gold, bronze. It’s the whiff of retro and a very authentic way to bring glamour into your home without intrusion.

TOP trends in kitchen interior and lighting design

[:bg]Trends are determined by lifestyle and absolutely consciously and purposefully, humanity is moving towards simplification, facilitation, flexibility and minimalism. And it is quite normal for developing people to think about longer-term and large-scale goals, so one of the priorities is the demand for more and more recycled, sustainable and eco-friendly and natural materials. This is fully noticeable in interior and product design, but we will look at impressive trends in the world of kitchens and lighting as two very basic and large sectors.

Kunyata as a focal point in the home

Perhaps partly because of the global pandemic, but perhaps also because of the very love of food, the kitchen is solidifying itself as a gathering point for the family. Cooking, a symbol of coziness, turns the design upside down and puts the kitchen island in the center of the home. It is now joined by the dining table or dining table with bar stools.

ATGdesign_MilanDesignWeek_Blog_kitchens-1

Thus, all family members or guests can gather and prepare dinner together. That is why the demand is to design the kitchen as a large room, which necessarily combines a dining room and in most cases a living room. Functionality, convenience and interesting design come to the fore, with various mechanisms for retracting, dragging and hiding standing out.

ATGdesign_MilanDesignWeek_Blog_kitchens-mechanisms

Extremely clean shapes, smooth surfaces, hidden cabinets and open shelves are noticeable. On the one hand, the demand for a minimalist look stands out, on the other – borrowings from large and professional kitchens of elements such as open shelves and hanging places, so that utensils and cooking appliances can be easily removed.

ATGdesign_MilanDesignWeek_Blog_kitchens-3

Wood and stone are strongly present. Airy shelves that conditionally divide the spaces, as well as beautiful showcases with smoked glass.

Lighting as the main source of variety, convenience and coziness

Lighting design is developing extremely quickly and adaptably in terms of innovative materials and technology. However, the absolute leader remains LED lighting, which is increasingly being upgraded through a beautiful and comfortable design. New is the introduction of the spherical lens, which does not allow light to be seen directly by the eye, but at the same time keeps the light directed instead of scattering it.

ATGdesign_MilanDesignWeek_Blog_lighting-trends

Spot lighting remains a trend and is becoming more and more flexible to control by the occupant. Again, the magnetic interceptions, manual guidance, easy movement of the luminaires so that they fit the needs are observed.

ATGdesign_MilanDesignWeek_Blog_lighting-solutions

The eco theme is very relevant, and with it recycled materials, plastic, paper, easily maintainable surfaces. The pandemic has also provoked antibacterial lights, a trend that is yet to enter.

Rechargeable USB luminaires, lightweight to carry and convenient to use in interiors and exteriors are a complete hit. The minimalist and clean design makes them suitable for any context and interior. Another step towards multifunctional and sustainable design.

We hope to inspire you with the latest from the world of kitchens and lighting. Follow our YouTube channel for more interesting videos. [:]

Milan Design Week 2021: interior trends

The forum, which “floods” the whole of Milan with the giant furniture design exhibition Salone del Mobile and many other smaller events and art installations, is of large-scale importance for interior design professionals, as it highlights the main trends in the industry. “To feel in your skin again – truly irreplaceable!” – says arch. Iveta Popova after her return from the largest international design event – Milan Design Week.

“After a year and a half of lull in major events, visiting Milan Design Week from a professional point of view is more than inspiring. I can quite consciously say that attending this forum is very important for me and has always validated the creative directions of the studio’s development. We saw incredibly beautiful installations, innovative design and more importantly – we created new contacts and exchanged experience with international colleagues.”

Nature and its constant presence in the home

A trend that we have observed in recent years and is here to stay is the presence of nature and earth elements in the home. Fabrics and materials such as wood, marble, stone, precious metals such as nickel, bronze, rose-gold; linen, wool, cotton, strengthen their positions and are even more daring in their participation in the interior through unusual patterns, coarse knitting, rough and natural surfaces.

Milan-Design-Week-2021_materials

An accent with shapes and patterns imitating vegetation is also noticeable, as well as the presence of living plants incorporated into the design.

Milan-Design-Week-2021_nature-elements

The color palette is entirely pastel with strong earth tones – brown, beige, ocher, tile, gray. And most brands are focusing on shades of green, and the trend is to make colorful and distinctive faucets and ceramics in the bathroom.

Milan-Design-Week-2021_nature-elements-bath

Finishes and textures

The surfaces are extremely diverse and combine each other – smooth, matte, ribbed, glossy, transparent, mirrored. The desired effect is the activation of the senses and provocation.

Milan-Design-Week-2021_ribs

The reliefs and patterns on the glass windows are reminiscent of retro design – ribbing, even imitation of broken glass or a water surface.

Milan-Design-Week-2021_glass

Innovation, eco and sustainable design

More and more systematic work is being done in the direction of sustainable and eco-friendly design. Extremely demanded by consumers in the West themselves, this is the reason for brands to persistently develop new and interesting implementations of recycled materials – plastics, paper and others. An absolute trend is antibacterial coatings, as well as easy-to-clean and maintainable fabrics.

The solutions of lighting brands in this direction are admirable, but we will pay special attention to them in the next article. [:]

CHILDREN’S BATH – INDEPENDENCE FROM AN EARLY AGE

Continuing the theme of children’s rooms, which we have been developing over the past week on our facebook page, we decided to take a look at children’s bathrooms. We realize that not everyone grew up with a separate bathroom as a child, but more and more apartments are architecturally planned with two bathrooms and this is a wonderful opportunity to predict that one will be for your future heir. This helps from an early age to build habits and is an advantage for parents, taking advantage of autonomy in their own bathroom. When we talk about a house – then we would emphasize the real need for a children’s bathroom.

Certainly, it is clear from the topic that the design of a children’s bathroom requires a dose of creativity. Whether it is a decoration or a complete transformation of the space – it is important that it is welcoming and “fun” so that all activities there are accompanied by the necessary enthusiasm, and not turn into an obligation.

Functionality

Yes, we will put functionality in the first place and it is quite natural for it to be consistent with the child’s essence. Plan height-accessible lockers and space for placing children’s belongings and supplies – a spare toothbrush, a sponge, extra toilet paper, a favorite toy. At the same time, do not miss the fact that there are accessories that should not be so accessible, so create a niche or frame in height that you will have access to. This aspect will change with the age and height of the child, but it is good to take it into account.

Bathtub

When it comes to younger children – definitely having a bathtub is an advantage and turns bathing into an adventure and game that the child embarks on without haggling. In the children’s bathroom, we recommend a private bathtub that is not built-in, because this way you will have the best access from all sides.

ATGdesign_BellaResidence_02_Photo_MinkoMinev (15)

Photo: Minko Minev

When building the design of this area, it is not to be neglected to have a small chair for your convenience – it can also be used by the child to make it easier to reach the sink, for example.

Accent with the lighting

As an architect and designer, I always make sure that the lighting is placed in the most reasonable way according to the designated areas and the “tasks” that are performed there. In the children’s bathroom, I advise you to think about lighting fixtures that are eye-catching. Here you can afford to bet on more playful shapes or colors.

ATG-design_Bella-Residence_lighting

Decoration

Consider adding an unobtrusive decoration that is in harmony with the overall style of the space, but at the same time fits the character of the child – this way he will feel really good there and will perceive the room as his true own. An easy way is to bet on colorful tiles that contain the child’s favorite shade.

A very favorite trick lately is to put moisture-resistant illustrated wallpaper in the bathroom. This creates a truly fabulous feeling.

How to transform the home this summer? Easy suggestions with Spirit Box

We are supporters of the fresh change in the home and summer is a season that inspires such a step. To make it really easy and pleasant, our partners from Spirit Paints have developed with our help a box that contains all the necessary elements for changing the walls in the interior. Well, of course, we advised them only in what we are very good at, and that is the creation of a fresh interior solution.

An accent wall in a room is a cool way to enliven the space and create an atmosphere. But how to choose the right solution for our home? Spirit Box offers three bold concepts in beautiful and fresh colors that can qualitatively change any room.

FLORA style in soft pink

Fresh floral elements will always remain an up-to-date solution for bringing the cheerful presence of nature into your home. In Flora style by Spirit Box , they are combined in a range of delicate pink-peach tones, which are very easy to combine with white and wood. Boho decorations will suit this style very well – wicker storage baskets, linen and/or cotton headlamps, furniture made of aged wood. A complementary palette we would suggest to contain dark brown, which will emphasize the casual tones of the walls, and it can be present in furniture, parquet or smaller details, without being imposed as dominant. White, beige and gray are neutral colors that also fit perfectly in the style.

Another interpretation of this style could be a gorgeous children’s room with a floral accent wall. The overall design is again based on the combination of wood and white, but is emphasized by the bright presence of metallic details in gold to bring shine and extra warmth.

ATGdesign_SpiritBox-pink-leaves-kidsroom

If you follow this model, for the choice of decoration, we would advise you to choose ethereal objects that contribute to the slight feeling of the overall interior – such are, for example, tables with a metal gold base, which can also be used for storage. They emphasize floral elements elegantly and are a wonderful addition to the concept.

HEXA style in warm yellow

ATGdesign_SpiritBox-orange-honeycomb

Warm yellow bee boxes can break up the interior in an amazing way. The universal shape of the hexagon predisposes to different shapes that we can form on the wall, and light shades of orange and gray play a role in its unfolding.

The template is suitable for any room, and we would combine it with leather and stone. Orange-brown leather in furniture, for example, will “warm up” the emission of soft tones from the wall even more. We can choose again decorations in gold or bronze to complement this warmth; We will look for their contrast in gray through stone, ceramics and smoked glass, as well as in black – matte metal surfaces in black will beautifully emphasize the bright color of the wall.

ATGdesign_urban_interiorstyle

To show the different interpretations in the interior of the HEXA style, we have developed a living room option that is extremely light and minimalistic. In it, the wall corresponds to gray and brown shades of furniture and carpet.

ATGdesign_SpiritBox-orange-honeycomb-livingspace

The black matte is again present in the metal coffee table, as well as in the simple dining chairs. Golden elements on the luminaires increase the feeling of warmth and elegantly accompany the image on the wall.

NATURA style in bold turquoise

ATGdesign_SpiritBox-turquiouse-leaves

We welcome nature into our home through the NATURA style, only in a beautifully arranged “embroidery” of leaves resembling wheat ears. The template is suitable for both a living room and a children’s room or bedroom. Bold turquoise creates a pleasant and creative environment filled with calmness and balance – that’s why we decided to deploy it in a workspace.

Our slight joke with the office environment stems from our observations that collective places of work need to be broken and fresh variety. More than ever we are used to the home office and that is why we believe that by placing this subtle design in a working environment we will get closer to the coziness and pleasant feeling of home. It’s tight and elegant, making it unobtrusive. It goes well with light wood, white leather and light gray metal surfaces.

ATGdesign_SpiritBox-turquiouse-officeinterior

We can also choose this NATURA style to liven up our work corner at home. The vertical arrangement of the template creates a sense of elongation and height, making it suitable for ground floors that supposedly have a lower ceiling.

ATGdesign_minimalist_interiorstyle

The fresh turquoise shade of Maldives color from the Spirit palette will look good in a home with beautiful marble or stone flooring. Minimalist furniture design will match the repetitive sheets arranged vertically. As a counterpoint to the accent wall, we choose the white and gray range to let the active color lead in the space.

Whichever of the three styles of the Spirit Box you prefer, you will have a beautiful result. We hope that interior tips for combinations of complementary colors, furniture and decoration have been a good guide into the endless wilds of possibilities that each of the types of templates provide. We will be extremely curious to find out what your choice is – you can write to us on social networks or send photos to our email office@atg-design.com. Have fun and rediscover home this summer in a new way! [:]

How to refresh the home through the choice of textiles?

[:bg]

Current interior trends in textiles, furniture and decorations can be your solution to refresh your home and at the same time bring lasting change.

The wealth of varieties of textiles can be both captivating and completely confusing to make a decision. Therefore, today we will pay attention to some trends that we find highly attractive and suitable for lovers of bold choices in the interior. Thus, we hope to give guidance on how to easily change the look of the home, even by reupholstering your favorite sofa or changing chairs in the dining room.

Pique

We will skip the too lush jacquard, but not the piqué, which impresses with its variety of shapes – combs, squares or even rhombic elements. What we like most about it is that there are no smooth lines in the texture of the tip. To some extent, the popularity of piqué textiles comes precisely because of the original texture – on the one hand, furniture and other accessories made of this material look solid and simple, and on the other, attractive and modern.

Smallpox

Very durable and preferred by us are textiles with a fine pattern and relief, combining two or three colors of threads. They allow you to make vast combinations with monochromatic accents in the home and are a gathering point of several shades. Most often these are cotton fabrics, but you can find variations with linen or wool that look wonderful. The interesting to the touch pattern creates an additional experience through the feel of the fabric and is appropriately complemented by larger or finer textures.

ATGdesign-blogpost-sofas

The choice of upholstery of a sofa or armchair, for example, makes it possible to add decorative pillows of different colors and fabrics or a blanket with a larger knit, combining one or two colors of the pattern of textiles. It is important not to forget about the carpet as a factor in the overall décor, which can carry similar elements 😉

ATGdesign-blogpost-chair-wool-leather

The combinations of two fabrics on furniture are extremely relevant. There is a wide choice in the design of chairs, for example, which combine – leather and wool, velvet and cotton or cotton and leather. When developing conceptual interior solutions, the choice of this type of furniture helps to pleasantly complement the overall idea and selection of materials in the home.

ATGdesign-blogpost-bedroom

Here are some favorite examples of chair variations, both in the model itself and in the upholstery. In addition to the combination of contrasting fabrics to the touch, you can also experiment in different color combinations. These three wonderful specimens can be seen in our office and showroom Design Lab.

An elegant and stylish pattern is herringbone. It can fit very well both in the office space of the home and in the living room according to the choice of a combination of colors. What attracts us the most to these fabrics with several thread colors is the illusion of a 3D effect that some of them create. In this way, you will definitely grab attention on the furniture, even if you choose a simpler and cleaner home design.

Graffiti in the office – more than decorating the walls

In conditions of a changed environment and total confusion and exchange of functions of residential and office spaces, decoration plays a strong role in identifying the place with the company’s brand. The office environment is already perceived in a new way, and this could not be ignored as a factor.

“Last summer, we had the task of renovating the office of Independent Media. However, this task extended far beyond cosmetic changes and our intervention as interior specialists was key.” – says arch. Iveta Popova.

When employees have been working from home for a long time, the return to the office should be positive and bring the touch of comfort that the home provided, but at the same time create space for creativity, concentration and increase the energy charge.

ATGdesign_Independent-Office_before-after

Before/After

“That is why we perceived our assignment as a mission of change and quality revitalization of the premises,” adds arch. Dare.

The name of the company itself also implies an expression of individuality, and the solution was to customize the space so that it declares a position.

The relationship between graffiti and office décor

Graffiti is widely perceived as a voice of protest, an expression of stable social criticism – a message that an independent media carries. We liked this as a concept to develop in the meeting room and was embraced by the client.

This contemporary visual language suits the brand very well and from art associated with the street, we transferred it to the interior as a shared expression of the company to carry its values in the image. The mural created in this way will always remind of the power of personal position and independence.

“When choosing the street art to implement in the project, we needed a deep conceptual conceiving of the drawing so that it conveys the overall vibe of the brand as a factor and complements the interior to make the project warm, welcoming and with a story that makes it mostly unique.”

We chose a distinctive pop art style with bright colors and a simple image that clearly communicates the idea. The thickened contour further emphasizes the message and we believe that the project supports the interior concept well.

All over the world, and more and more often in Bulgaria, we see architectural studios implementing street art and graffiti in their projects. This contemporary visual language, inherent in the urban environment, is capable of giving a cultural and artistic soul to office spaces and is a powerful tool for living in large volumes. The variety of shapes and styles is so great and can always be harmoniously woven into the bigger picture – from black and white strokes to colorful and classic graffiti, from realism to comics, everyone can find their own form that will nourish the creative thinking in the team and give a new image to the office.
