Every year in December, like perhaps most people, we look back at the calendar and weigh the challenges, successes and lessons that the year has brought us. For our architectural and interior studio, 2020 turned out to be generous and prosperous – marked by the first international awards of ATG Design.

Projects

This year, one of the challenges was to work in the field. Despite the delayed deliveries of materials, furniture and decoration from abroad, as well as the extended production and installation activities, we successfully completed several key sites.

RD-2 is an interior project that we planned to complete in the spring, but for objective reasons all activities shifted forward in time by about 3 months and we finished in the summer. The fine and elegant interior with a total area of 120 sq.m. has become a new home, which was introduced to us by the owner Rado Dobrevski in the third episode of ATG Design’s video series – My Perfect Home.

Under construction for two years – MV1 Residence, now in its full glory, is home to a young family. Two-storey house with garage, spread over a total area of 350 sq.m. is located in the district. Raspberry Valley. ATG Design took care of the design, planning and monitoring of the construction.

We can almost call them twin houses – Bell House #1 and #2 are gigantic projects to which we have devoted nearly four years for architectural design, construction and overall interior concept and implementation. Despite the similarity in the planned spaces, each of the houses carries its own spirit. Working on them was a real adventure and an opportunity to unleash the creative potential of the studio in every aspect. We have revealed extremely little of the process and look forward to introducing you to the beautiful houses in the coming months.

Two other apartments remained at the finishing phase and are one step away from final implementation. These are two small jewels in the center of the capital – Paris & Emerald. Well-known at the “Inspiration” level, presented in detail through mood boards and 3D visualizations on Instagram, the projects have developed dynamically in recent months, leaving the final touches in the completion of the interiors.

Awards

The well-deserved international award for the tireless work of the team suggested its presence early this year. In April, we received the news about the nomination of our interior project RD-1 in the prestigious competition German Design Awards 2021 in the Interior Architecture category. This was also the first verification of the high assessment of the project.

The summer brought us the absolute confidence that 2020 is our year to step on the international podium and apply for our style by participating in the established European competitions. At the beginning of July, we received two awards at the “House of the Year” 2019 ceremony of Ideal Home – first place in the category “Private Interior” with the interior project RD-1 and second place in the category “Small Home” with apartment SS-2.

As for the challenges this year, we would not miss to mention the biggest for us – the FEEL ME experience, initiated by ATG Design & Design Lab. cultural event, a mix between design labyrinth and immersive art installations. We literally felt with all our strength the beginning of the spring isolation, which froze the work on the event and did not allow its creation this year. It was supposed to be held in support of the National Student House, but despite the development of circumstances, we successfully focused our attention on the cause of the development of the cultural monument, and also included sponsorships of a number of brands in the industry and personal funds in it.

The efforts of our team were awarded with an honorary award to the Director of the NSD, Hristiyan Bakalov, and all the scenery and long-term improvements in the building left their mark in the Student House for the proactive activity of arch. Popova and have materially supported the opening of the Metronome rehearsal studio.

We grow and get better

Last but not least, for ATG Design was an extremely valuable step in the expansion of our team of architects and interior designers. With two new gentle and creative additions, we will create with even more energy and enthusiasm in the coming year.
